Currently playing with
I Exist -www.myspace.com/iexistmusic

Usually found playing
In a spare bedroom filled with way too much crap in it or in Canberra.

Years on the fretboard
Around 10 years, though I stopped playing for a few and mainly played drums. However I like playing guitar a lot more so getting back into that was awesome.

Describe your playing style?
Very, very basic. I’m by no means some sort of “shred god” but I can write and play the riffs of my band and that’s all I need from my playing.

First axe
A dark green Squire Strat that I sold and wish I never did, it sounded like shit, but I’ve always wanted to be able to say “this was my first guitar”.

Current Axe
I play two guitars in I Exist, my current main love is a custom guitar I had built by a guy named Jonathan Shub who runs 2012 guitars, its kind of like a SG/Les Paul/Tele hybrid. My other guitar is a Gibson SG Special, which is still to this day the best guitar I have ever played, that thing fits with me like a glove.

Rig/pedals?
I don’t use many pedals, but occasionally use a MXR Phase 90 and a Keeley Modded Ibanez TS-9 for overdrive when I use amps other than my own.

Secret weapon?
Bareknuckles pickups, wich I’ve used for years. They along with the way I play, help make my sound.

Favourite guitarist of all time?
That’s a hard one, it’d be a toss up between Jimmy Bower of Eyehategod, Matt Pike of Sleep, Pepper Keenan of COC or Euroboy of Turbonegro.

Favourite current local player?
Josh Nixon, I know that sounds lame being that he is in my band, but he is the one person in Australia who has constantly amazed me with his riffs, playing and solos and as far as I can tell, will continue to do so.

Current Release:
Our split 7” with our good mates from Sydney, Phantoms, is coming out on Common Bond Records, people should go pick it up!
