The 9 lonely spirits present a tribute to songstress Margot Smith.

Steve Kilbey, Peter Koppes and Tim Powles (the church band) and friends will come together to present a special tribute night at NOTES Live in Newtown Sydney on Sunday the 18th September 2011, to remember and honour the very talented Margot Smith.

Joining them will be legendary Steve Lucas (from punk band X), David Bridie (My Friend the Chocolate Cake), Clyde Bramley (The Stepfords/Hoodoo Gurus), Lindy Morrison (The Go-Betweens), John Kilbey (the Bhagavad Guitars), Michael Wade, Ben Kross and David Rule (The Toxic Garden Gnomes), David Skeet (Crackerbox) and David Lane. These artists are all coming together and donating their time to champion this special artist who left behind a rich legacy of music that must be shared and cherished. This show will not only feature songs that Margot recorded for her last album Inhumaninane but also a selection from her two studio albums Sleeping With The Lion and Taste and some unreleased rarities to be showcased for the very
first time.

The event is also a part of the Sydney Fringe Festival and is a rare opportunity to watch such an extensive group of alternative Australian artists perform live together.

Proceeds on the night from ticket sales will go towards two charities. Support Act is a registered charity and non-profit organisation raising funds to provide relief arising from hardship and/or
illness amongst musicians and support workers in the Australian music industry.  A donation will also be made to  the Sea Shepherds  at the request of Margot’s family.
